Garage Door Won't Open

Start with these checks

1. Confirm the opener has electrical power.
2. Check whether the door is manually locked.
3. Try the wall control and remote separately.
4. Look for a visible broken spring or loose cable.
5. Notice whether the motor runs, hums or stays silent.

If the opener runs but the door barely moves

A failed spring can make the door too heavy for the opener. A broken or displaced lift cable can also affect movement.
